Aug 18, 2026.

Week 6 of the Esports World Cup 2026 is officially in the books, with four champions crowned across the PUBG Mobile World Cup, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege and Chess. From dominant championship runs to unforgettable Cinderella stories, each title delivered its own path to glory. Here’s a look at the four new champions who emerged from Week 6.

Chess at EWC 26
The King of Chess

Magnus Carlsen added another milestone to his legendary career by defeating Denis Lazavik to successfully defend his EWC Chess title. The Norwegian Grandmaster went undefeated throughout the tournament, taking home $250,000 in prize money and 1,000 Club Championship points for Team Liquid as he claimed his second consecutive EWC gold.

R6 Siege at EWC 26
R6 Runs Through Pindorama

The R6 Siege Grand Final saw the regional rivalry between Brazilian titans FaZe Clan and FURIA reach its pinnacle, with both clubs putting everything on the line for the EWC 26 trophy. FURIA showed flashes of life and threatened to force a fifth map, but FaZe found the answers to its opponents’ raw aggression, closing out the series 3-1 to claim the title. The victory also made FaZe the first club in competitive R6 Siege history to complete the triple crown of premier international championships.

PUBG Mobile World Cup at EWC 26
The Survivor’s Gold

S2G Esports made history by surviving an 18-match gauntlet against 15 other clubs in the PUBG Mobile World Cup Grand Final. Despite sitting on Smash Rule match point for the final four games, an early elimination in the final match left S2G watching from the sidelines as their rivals fought to deny them the crown. The Turkish club’s earlier consistency ultimately paid off, however, as its accumulated points were enough to hold onto first place and secure the championship.

EWC 26 featuring Rocket League
Twins and a three-time champion

Team Falcons could not be stopped on Championship Sunday in Rocket League, sweeping both Karmine Corp in the semifinals and Spacestation Gaming in the Grand Final. The Saudi club’s star-studded lineup featured twin brothers Saleh “Rw9” Bakhashwin and Yazid “Kiileerrz” Bakhashwin alongside Samy “dralii” Hajji, who made history by becoming a three-time EWC champion across three different rosters. After lifting the trophy with Team BDS in 2024 and Karmine Corp in 2025, dralii completed his three-peat with Falcons in 2026.
