With none of the traditional major regions represented in this year’s Grand Final, history was guaranteed to be made regardless of the outcome. Team Spirit’s victory marked a monumental milestone for the EECA region, securing its first major international title and establishing its place on the global stage. Kemiran “Sunset Lover” Kochkarov reflected on the journey after the win.
“We finally got our victory," he said. "It was a lot of hard work, but now we get to see the results.”
SONY MVP
For his stellar performance throughout the tournament, Mathaios “Kid Bomba” Panagiotis Chatzilakos was awarded the SONY MVP award. The German player, who appeared overwhelmed with emotion immediately after the victory and could only describe the moment as surreal, later showed a humble side when reflecting on the honor.
“I don’t think I did more than my teammates," he said. "Instead, I think they did more than me actually, but I’m still thankful for this award.”
Club Championship points secured
With their Grand Final win, Team Spirit not only claims the $1,000,000 first prize, but also secures 1,000 Club Championship points for the organization. Combined with their fifth-place finish in Dota 2 at EWC 26, Team Spirit now sits in seventh place in the Club Championship standings with 1,200 points, keeping them firmly in contention for the overall title.
ONIC secured 500 Club Championship points after finishing third, while Team Falcons earned 300 points for their fourth-place result. Neither club has secured a first-place finish in Paris yet, leaving a major roadblock in their path to eligibility.
