About
Overwatch 2 is a 5v5, role-based hero shooter where success depends on teamwork and mastery of distinct roles. Players choose from Tank, Damage, and Support heroes, each bringing unique abilities that shape how every match unfolds. With a 45-hero roster, teams must adapt on the fly, counter opponents, and build compositions that fit the situation. Across competitive modes like Control, Escort, Flashpoint, Hybrid, Push, and Clash, players battle across 30 maps, coordinating ultimates and positioning to secure objectives and turn the tide of chaos in their favor.
Overwatch 2’s competitive scene is driven by one of the most passionate and enduring esports communities in the world. Years of high-level play have produced elite specialists, deep strategic knowledge, and rivalries that span regions and generations. At the Esports World Cup, the game’s best players come together to represent the peak of that global ecosystem, showcasing skill and adaptability under pressure. It is a celebration of a community that continues to evolve, proving why Overwatch 2 remains a cornerstone of competitive hero shooters.
