About
Dota 2 is a five‑on‑five multiplayer online battle arena where teams choose from 126 heroes across two roles: Core and Support. Each hero has a unique set of abilities that shapes their playstyle, and players work together to push lanes, defeat enemy heroes, and ultimately destroy the opposing team’s Ancient. Teams earn experience and gold to level up and purchase items, gaining powerful advantages that can turn the tide in late-game battles.
Dota 2 has one of the most passionate and competitive esports communities in the world, built on long-standing teams, rivalries, and massive prize pools. At EWC, the top squads face off on a global stage, with strategy, coordination, and individual skill on full display as they compete for championship glory.

FATAL FURY: COTW at EWC 26 Champion: DarkAngel claims EWC 2026's first title
After a dominant run through the bracket, Natus Vincere's Luis Guadalupe "DarkAngel" Castillo Gomez emerged as the first FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves at EWC 26 champion, defeating Kenta "mi2ha4" Ichihara 5-1 in Saturday's Grand Final. The victory makes DarkAngel the first champion of Esports World Cup 2026. Congratulations to DarkAngel and his club, Natus Vincere.

Esports World Cup opens new international chapter with spectacular Paris ceremony
Esports fans from around the world watched the Esports World Cup officially begin with a star-studded Opening Ceremony at La Seine Musicale in Paris. Headlined by Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake, Theodora, and Mosimann, the celebration marked the start of the first EWC edition outside of Riyadh and kicked off seven weeks of global competition.

Throughout Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Fan Fest offers a wide range of interactive activations, hands-on experiences and community spaces designed to celebrate gaming culture and give every attendee something to explore. Here are the top highlights from Week 1 of the EWC 2026 Fan Fest.
Community Streaming Guidelines
We welcome community streamers in all languages to broadcast our Dota 2 events using DOTA TV. It is important for us that the Dota 2 community grows and has access to top level Dota 2 content.
We want to encourage community streamers to be creative and produce exciting content for their fans, at the same time, we would like to emphasise that in-line with the Dota 2 community stream policy the community streams should be strictly non-commercial — this applies to both live broadcast and VODs of the broadcast. Any content created based on the VOD livestream or parts of the VOD livestream will also need to follow our policies.
If you break these rules, EWC reserves the right to take action against your stream.
For the avoidance of doubt, you are not allowed to re-stream the streaming feeds broadcasted by EWC.
1. Streaming Titles
The community stream title has to follow a standardised format of “Full Name of Event – Team A vs. Team B”, for example, “Esports World Cup 2026 – Team A vs. Team B”.
2. Dos and Donts
Community streamers must not have professional studio level broadcast features. In addition, a physical set with several talents is not allowed.
All streams must have a 5 minute stream delay for Online Events, and a 3 minute stream delay for Offline Events.
3. Environment
Create a positive and inclusive environment and ensure proper moderation of your chat.
