UNLIMIT Stage Last Minute Comeback to Become the ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Playoffs at Esports World Cup 2026 Champions

UNLIMIT provided drama in the final stages of the ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Playoffs at Esports World Cup 2026, surprising the competition to beat ten other teams to the trophy in a brilliant final frenzy.

PARIS, France (July 11, 2026) -- UNLIMIT has won the ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Playoffs at Esports World Cup 2026 after beating out Team Vision, Sentinels, and eight other Match Point Eligible teams to take the Grand Final in a closely contested 10-game series.

Consisting of Yulariman, Xtsuvi, and Peace, UNLIMIT from Japan banded together over the past year and have posted solid results. The trio have been storied members of their region's Apex Legends scene over the years – placing third in the APAC North ALGS Pro League Split 1 this year behind ZETA DIVISION and REJECT – but they were not on the radar for many as the finals reached a crescendo, and were able to come out of nowhere to scoop the trophy.

Few had them as top contenders after a slow start to the finals; in the first six games they did not place higher than 9th, but they were able to stage an unlikely comeback to snatch the win from under more established teams such as Sentinels and Team Vision, who were both Match Point Eligible as early as Game 7. UNLIMIT were nowhere close to being Match Point Eligible after the first six games, and looked unlikely to win, but an impressive three victories over the final four games saw them rocket up the standings and eventually take the championship in Game 10.

It all came down to a 3v2 in Game 10 against local rivals ZETA DIVISION, who had just earned Match Point the game before – meaning that their final skirmish would decide who would take the trophy. Eventually it came down to Peace, who made use of the high ground to slay ZETA DIVISION and secure the shocking victory.

An emotional UNLIMIT could not find the words at first to describe their historic win, but were able to gather their composure after arriving at the Esports World Cup trophy.

"I thought this was a dream at first, after winning the last game, but the dream came true," said Peace. "I appreciate everyone that supported me, my family, my friends, UNLIMIT staff. I appreciate everyone, thank you very much."

"My teammates are the greatest. I was supported throughout, and I'm so glad we were able to win. Thank you so much," said Xtsuvi.

"Thank you very much indeed to everyone who believed in us, and kept on cheering for us. Thank you very much," said Yulariman.

Peace was awarded the Sony MVP award for his performance across the tournament. He racked up 39 kills, 35 assists, and 50 knockouts throughout his journey. He was comfortably the top performer on his team, and with his teammate Yulariman showing up as one of the top scorers at the ALGS 2026 Championship a few months ago, UNLIMIT showcased their very real fire power.

With 1,000 Club Championship points, UNLIMIT currently shares the top place on the Club Championship table with NAVI, who were able to secure their first trophy of EWC 2026 earlier this evening in FATAL FURY. VALORANT is set to conclude on Sunday, July 12, as the rest of this first Championship Weekend unfolds.
