VALORANT at EWC 26 Winners: 100Thieves steal the trophy

The underdog 100T team, one with admitted potential, had fallen short a number of times in their history. But on Sunday, the team finally got the chance to lift a trophy for the top tier VALORANT event.-- UNLIMIT has won the ALGS Year 6 Split 1 Playoffs at Esports World Cup 2026 after beating out Team Vision, Sentinels, and eight other Match Point Eligible teams to take the Grand Final in a closely contested 10-game series.

The NA team pushed regional rivals NRG to their limit, a team that on paper had more experience, more discipline, and certainly more trophies in their cabinet. While NRG were able to put on a strong showing, it was the individual playmaking of 100T’s talented roster that made the difference on the day, coming out ahead in multiple 1v1 and 2v2 situations.

100T shotcaller vora clutches up

While NRG set the tone early with a 5-4 win in the Skirmish Side Selection, when things got in game, it was 100T dictating the pace. The VCT Americas contender waited out the structured moves of NRG, and resultantly took an early 3-2 lead in Game 1. This forced NRG to rethink their moves, and burn early timeouts on restrategizing.

With the first game 9-3 at the half-time, NRG briefly refocused, bringing things within striking distance. But 100T swung back momentum thanks to some incredible cross map Hunter's Fury plays by shotcaller Jordan "vora" Pulwer, securing the final three maps to end the series 13-7.

In fact Vora had multiple moments where he grounded the team with more than shot calling, clutching up in a 1v1 early in the first game to keep his team’s advantage.

NRG mix things up

For game two on Sunset, NRG tried switching up their Agent picks to try and find any advantage they could to regain their footing. 100T took the initial two rounds, and then quickly made it 4-1, forcing a timeout from NRG.

8-1 down in the second game,NRG finally showed signs of life. But 100T’s early plants after the side swap forced NRG to make dangerous retakes, allowing 100T go up 2-0.

It seemed destined to be a clean sweep for 100T but an almost complete collapse on Haven gave instant flashbacks of last year’s VALORANT event when Team Heretics reverse swept Fnatic after two games.

Turning it around and tiebreakers

But a heroic comeback in game four on Ascent stifled any hopes of a repeat of the previous year. NRG initially opened up with a 6-0 on defense. While 100T took back a few wins, NRG were able to bring the score to 9-3 heading into the half.

Regaining momentum after a pistol round, 100T were buoyed by the incredible performance of Timothée "Timotino" Lavigne Dupont on Jett. On the back of his play, the Thieves brought the score to an equalized 10-10.

A resurgence by NRG pushed it to 12-10 with NRG on match point, but 100T picked up two in a row to take it to tie-breakers. Quickly taking the opening set by confidently breaking out on the attackers round, 100T closed down the tournament with a defenders round for the ages.

100T take home $600,000 in prize money along with 1,000 Club Championship points for their organization. NRG settle for $340,000 and 750 Championship points.
