Team Redline Becomes The First Esports World Cup Champions Of 2025 After Victory In Rennsport
Jul 11, 2025.
Team Redline, the esports team headed up Formula 1 world champion Max Versappen, has claimed the first trophy of the 2025 Esports World Cup, defending the title they also claimed at the 2024 iteration of the event.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (July 11, 2025) For the second year in a row, Team Redline have been crowned as the champions of Rennsport at the Esports World Cup, after a dominating performance throughout the competition that saw them consistently outperform all their rivals.
The victory sees Team Redline defend their Esports World Cup trophy, having also won the competition at the inaugural Esports World Cup in 2024. The exact roster from last year returned to Riyadh and picked up right where they left off, winning races and never giving any other team a real chance at taking the trophy from them.
The tournament, which is the biggest international LAN event in the Rennsport R1 calendar, saw nine of the best sim racing teams in the world head to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to battle it out for the lion’s share of a $500,000 prize pool.
As the second seed in the competition, Team Redline entered directly into the group stage, where they won three of the four races they took part in, sending a message to the rest of the field. As they progressed into the upper bracket, the wins continued to roll in, with Redline taking the chequered flag first in two of the three races to book their spot in the grand final.
Although Virtus.pro’s Daire McCormack won four of the eight races on the final day, it was Redline’s strength across their entire team that helped them take the win. At least one Redline driver was on the podium of every single race in the final day, with those consistent results being more than enough for them to be crowned champions as the final race of the day came to an end.
“It’s all about teamwork, and we had it all the time, every single race we did the best that we could, especially in the races we came back from poor qualifying,” said Redline driver Kevin Siggy after the win. “I’m very happy we achieved it, it's a back to back. I said two days ago that we are going to do it, and we did. We are simply the best.”
Team Redline’s Luke Bennett claimed the MVP award and the $10,000 prize that comes with it, after taking four podiums on the final day and impressively placing in the top three in all three races of the upper bracket.
“It’s incredible, I’ve never won any kind of driver’s or solo championship, so to win the MVP award is almost a different way of winning that kind of thing. I’m super happy to win the MVP award, but also, it would be rude to say that all my teammates don’t deserve it, too. They’ve all been incredible, it’s not a one-man team, there’s four of us.”
As the first champions of the 2025 Esports World Cup, Team Redline claim 1000 Club Championship points, putting them at the top of the current standings. However, with no other teams currently in line to compete at the event, they will likely not hold onto that spot. Their rivals in the final, Virtus.pro and Team Vitality, claim 750 and 500 points respectively, getting their campaigns off to a great start.
