PMWC at EWC 25 Champions: Yangon Galacticos Devour The Biggest Chicken Dinner

Aug 03, 2025.

After a grueling three-day final, Yangon Galacticos have been crowned the PUBG MOBILE World Cup champions at the 2025 Esports World Cup. Congratulations to Yangon Galacticos on becoming the first-ever team from Myanmar to claim an EWC title.

A rough road to the final

Yangon Galacticos’ (YG) path to becoming PUBG MOBILE champions was anything but smooth. After a challenging group stage that saw them finish in 11th place, YG were pushed into the high-pressure survival stage to fight for a spot in the finals.

The tension only escalated there, as the eventual champions narrowly secured the final qualifying position – finishing in 8th place, just one point ahead of the first team eliminated, INFLUENCE RAGE, in 9th.

Impressive early finals performance

After barely making it to the final, the Myanmar-based team seemed set on making the most of the opportunity. The squad came out of the plane flying on the first finals day, claiming two chicken dinners as well as a 2nd and a 4th place in the first six games.

The placement points kept rolling in on the second day of the grand final, including two more chicken dinners. The squad also kept landing plenty of killing blows, ensuring they would enter the third and final day at the top of the leaderboard.

The tournament was set to conclude with a Smash Rule format as the final day began. This meant that teams had to score 10 more points than the highest point total so far, which was YG’s 118, and get another chicken dinner after that to claim this year’s PMWC at EWC 25 title.

The eventual winners were the first team to cross the match point total, after securing a 2nd place in game two, shortly thereafter joined by Alpha Gaming in game three. Weibo Gaming, who eventually claimed 2nd overall, also managed to make it onto match point after an impressive finals day performance, including two early first-place finishes.

In the end, none of the three eligible teams managed to capitalize on their match point status, which meant that this year’s champion would be decided by points.

Yangon Galacticos laid claim to this year’s crown with a total of 157 points, taking home the $500,000 first prize. That doesn't include the $47,000 they had already earned in the group and survival stages, adding up to a whopping $547,000.

SONY MVP

While falling just short of the title with his team Alpha Gaming, Uuganbayar “DOK” Dulguun still managed to claim a personal prize. The Mongolian had an impressive finals performance, scoring no fewer than 31 eliminations, earning him the SONY MVP award and a $10,000 cash prize.

Club Championship

Out of the Club Championship frontrunners, only Team Falcons were represented in today’s finals. With the local team falling short in 10th place, the top of the Club Championship leaderboard will remain unchanged after today’s PMWC at EWC 25 finals.
