Overwatch 2 is back in the EWC Lineup for 2025

Blizzard’s genre defining hero FPS game, Overwatch 2, is returning to EWC for 2025. The game was electric on the EWC stage in 2024, and with new heroes and a thriving competitive scene, now OWCS MSC at EWC 25 is promising to be even bigger and better at this year's competition!

LAST TIME ON: Esports World Cup Overwatch 2
Led by LIP and Shu, Crazy Racoon lived up to the name in 2024 by putting on a ridiculously dominant run to the top. During their championship winning run they only dropped two maps, one against their rival Team Falcons and one against fellow finalist Toronto Ultra.
Their toughest challenge was against Toronto Ultra in the finals. Ultra featured NA’s most cracked player Sugarfree, whose DPS skills more than once put Crazy Racoons on the backfoot. But the experience of the Racoons carried the day, as they installed their key in the EWC trophy and made history! Their world-class flex support Shu was named MVP, and oh boy did he deserve it, as his efforts carried the team throughout their run and not just in the grand finals.
OW2 esports have come a long way in the past year. Can Crazy Racoon defend the crown, or is another team up to the task of unseating last year's champs?
OWCS MSC at EWC 25 Dates and Tournament Format
Watch the Esports World Cup Overwatch 2 tournament July 31- August 3.
Sixteen teams will compete, starting with a four Group GSL stage. The surviving eight teams will compete in a single elimination playoff bracket to determine the OWCS MSC at EWC 25 winner!
Slot distribution will be determined as follows:
- 1x OWCS Champions Clash - China
- 2x OWCS Asia - Korea: Stage 2
- 1x OWCS Asia - Japan: Stage 2
- 1x OWCS Asia - Pacific: Stage 2
- 3x OWCS North America: Stage 2
- 3x OWCS EMEA: Stage 2
- 3x OWCS China: Stage 2
- 1x FACEIT League LATAM: Season 1
- 1x EWC Last Chance Qualifier
OWCS MSC at EWC 25 Prize Pool
This year’s Esports World Cup Overwatch 2 competition will feature a $1,000,000 prize pool, in line with last year's offering! Whoever said Overwatch esports is in trouble hasn’t seen the OWCS MSC at EWC 2025 and it shows.
