Mobile Legends: Bang Bang returns for another week of competition at the Esports World Cup 2026. The world’s top teams enter the Mid Season Cup Playoffs, battling for a share of the $3,000,000 prize pool, the coveted MSC trophy, and valuable Club Championship points as the race reaches its halfway point.
Following an unpredictable Group Stage, the tournament is set to crown a brand-new MSC champion. The competition now moves into a ruthless single-elimination Knockout Stage, where every series will be decided in a best-of-five, culminating in a best-of-seven Grand Final to crown the next champion.
Aurora Gaming has emerged as one of the biggest surprises of MSC at EWC 26. Powered by creative drafting and standout performances from players like Ahmet “Rosa” Batır, whose Rafaela pick became a signature weapon, Aurora dismantled top-tier competition during the Group Stage, including a statement victory over defending champions and pre-tournament favorites Team Liquid PH.
With exceptional draft flexibility and explosive early-game execution, Aurora enters the Playoffs with immense confidence. However, after establishing themselves as the team to beat, they now enter the Knockout Stage with every opponent looking to end their breakthrough run.
With the Group Stage complete, the road to the MSC at EWC 26 trophy is down to its final contenders. Five teams have already secured their spots in the Playoffs: Team Vitality, Team Vamos, Yangon Galacticos, Team Spirit, PRO Esports, ONIC, Team Falcons PH and Aurora Gaming.
Team Spirit, ONIC, and Aurora Gaming are the only teams returning from MSC at EWC 25, giving both squads a chance to build on their previous tournament experience.
Team Vitality also enters the Playoffs with history on the line. After the club’s women’s team won the MLBB Women’s International at EWC 26 earlier this summer, a victory from the men’s roster would make Team Vitality the first club to complete the MLBB double crown at the Esports World Cup.
The MLBB Mid Season Cup features a direct battle between several of the biggest clubs from last year’s Club Championship, with Team Liquid, Team Vitality, and Team Falcons all entering the tournament with representatives chasing valuable points.
Following the Group Stage, Team Vitality and Team Falcons remain in contention to add significant points to their Club Championship totals. Meanwhile, Team Liquid’s disappointing EWC 26 campaign continued, with another one of its teams eliminated before earning any points toward the standings.
