Free Fire at EWC 25: EVOS Earns Final Booyah!

Jul 20, 2025.

It was a frenetic finish to Free Fire at the Esports World Cup 2025, as EVOS Divine took home the final Booyah! The Indonesian squad endured a brutal 10-match gauntlet that saw their victory come down to the wire. Congratulations to EVOS Divine on earning their place in Esports World Cup history.

An early chance at victory

EVOS Divine shot ahead early in the tournament with a commanding 30-point lead, but their path to victory was anything but easy. Despite holding the lead for most of the day, it took a full 10 games before they could finally lock in the win. The Indonesian powerhouse was pushed to the brink by fierce rivals AG.AL, Team Falcons, and RRQ Kazu in a chaotic and unpredictable grand final.

EVOS’ first chance at victory came as early as Game 6, but Pain Gaming played spoiler – eliminating EVOS at the cost of three of their own. This opened the door for Team Vitality to win the round and for AG.AL to join EVOS on match point.

With both AG.AL and EVOS Divine on match point in Game 7, the potential for a finish was high. But Pain Gaming and Fluxo, both Brazilian representatives, were intent on creating chaos and preventing an easy victory. Instead, RRQ and LOS managed to secure Championship Rush berths – LOS taking their second Booyah! of the finals – opening things up for four potential winners. But time was running out as the 10-match deadline loomed.

Chaos at the top

Meanwhile, Team Vitality had been quietly making their move. After placing high in almost every game, they found themselves in a chaotic final circle with AG.AL, EVOS, and RRQ in Game 8. Taking home the Booyah! and the points needed to enter the Championship Rush with just two games left, Vitality were in position for a victory – but EVOS still held a 40-point lead.

Unfortunately, even with the lead, EVOS was still at least one game away from a win. Instead, Team Falcons secured the Game 9 Booyah! The home team still left themselves short of match point and unable to claim victory. At the last minute, Dragons Esports – who had earned a string of podium finishes in earlier matches – locked in the final Championship Rush position.

Six teams, one final Booyah!

Heading into the final game, six teams had the potential to score the winning Booyah! But slowly, one by one, they were picked off. First, RRQ executed a brutal gank on AG.AL – only to be taken out themselves by Fluxo. Not content with eliminating just one potential winner, Fluxo then took out Dragons, ending their hopes of a surprise victory.

With the final circle looming, and both Vitality and EVOS in position to win, only Team Falcons had the potential to play spoiler. But while it easily could have been left to Team Falcons to decide the outcome, EVOS took control and claimed a last-minute Booyah!

SONY MVP

Throughout the tournament, EVOS Divine put on a clinic in aggressive play. In fact, it was impressive just how bloodthirsty they were – the team racked up 96 kills on their way to victory, well over half of their 170 total points. Rasyah "Rasyah" Rasyid secured the Sony MVP award for his relentless aggression and standout performance, earning an additional $10,000.

While narrowly missing out on the win, special recognition should be given to Team Vitality and Team Falcons for their performances. Vitality’s third-place finish pushed them into the lead of the Club Championship, surpassing Gen.G, who had only taken the top spot earlier in the day.
