FC Pro World Championship at EWC 26: RvPLegend claims title

Jul 25, 2026.

Razvan “RvPLegend” Puiu has captured the FC Pro World Championship trophy at the Esports World Cup 2026, completing an incredible championship run that began in the Play-Ins. In a high-stakes Grand Final, the HYPERSPIRIT player defeated Levy “levyfinn” Rieck 6-5 to claim the title and the $250,000 first prize. Congratulations to RvPLegend.

The champion came out firing, racing to a 2-0 lead within the opening 13 minutes before his German opponent responded in the 18th minute. RvPLegend quickly restored his two-goal advantage in the 27th minute, and after both players added another goal before halftime, the Romanian entered the break with a commanding lead.

Insurmountable early lead

He continued where he left off in the second half, scoring almost immediately from kickoff before adding another goal just a minute later. RvPLegend wasn’t finished, finding the net again in the 58th minute to extend his lead to 6-2.

Levyfinn refused to go quietly, mounting a late comeback attempt with three consecutive goals to cut the deficit to 6-5. However, with his fifth goal only arriving in the 90th minute and less than a minute of in-game time remaining, the comeback fell just short as RvPLegend held on to claim the championship.

Defined by resilience

The Grand Final victory marked the second time RvPLegend defeated Levyfinn at this year’s Esports World Cup, following a narrow 9-8 victory in their Play-Ins Group Stage matchup and proving his championship run was no fluke. Those two nail-biting victories were a reflection of the Romanian champion’s entire tournament journey.

After battling through the Play-In Stage and surviving the League Phase, RvPLegend continued to overcome tight contests in the Knockout Stage. He survived a dramatic 10-9 thriller against Alihan Hadzi in the quarterfinals before defeating Nassada to secure his place in the title match.

Star-studded showmatch

Before the Grand Final, legendary football commentator Omar Da Fonseca brought his trademark energy and enthusiasm to the stage as host of a star-studded showmatch between Team Benzema and Team Amine, setting the tone for the final matches of the week.

Team Benzema, featuring Karim Benzema and Bruce “Spank” Grannec, faced off against Team Amine, represented by Mohamed Amine “AmineMaTue” Mahmoud and Mahmoud “Brak2K” Gassama. The two teams delivered an entertaining exhibition for fans, with Team Benzema securing a convincing 4-0 victory.

Club Championship points secured

By conquering the FC Pro World Championship at EWC 26, RvPLegend has cemented his place in EA SPORTS FC history, earning global recognition, a $250,000 prize, and 1,000 Club Championship points for HYPERSPIRIT.

However, as the organization is only represented in one title at EWC 26, the club will not be eligible for a place in the final Club Championship standings.

Of the clubs that earned points from the FC Pro World Championship, only Team Falcons remains in contention for the overall Club Championship. The Saudi Arabian organization secured 200 points through Anders “Vejrgang” Vejrgang’s performance in the tournament.
