Fatal Fury: City of Wolves is the latest FGC title to join the Esports World Cup for 2025, and will remain on the roster through 2027! The title is developed by SNK Corporation, and despite the series being one of the OG’s in fighting game history, City Of Wolves is the first game to be added to the franchise in 26 years!

Fatal Fury: City Of Wolves picks up where the franchise left off over 20 years ago. In many ways, it is a fighting game, complete with combos and insane visuals! But it has its own unique mechanics that set it apart from the field.
In addition to standard moves and special moves, players have access to gear-based super attacks, which are unlocked via power meters. Players can spend one for an ignition gear attack or two for a redline gear attack. A super move is also available if both bars are spent while S.P.G. is active
Plus, there is a new mechanic called the Rev System. Players can perform various Rev moves — like Rev Blow, Accel, and Guard. These moves offer benefits to the players, like making spacing, helping chain attacks, and providing blocks that push enemies away. However, each Rev move will add to a Rev Gauge that, once filled, allows characters to enter an overheat state where Rev moves become unavailable.
With a plethora of techniques to master and a brand new title in a storied franchise available, we expect EWC 2025 to be a world-class showcase of the FGC talent who are diving headfirst into Fatal Fury: City of Wolves!
Fatal Fury: City of Wolves at 2025 Esports World Cup Dates and Format
The tournament will pit 16 players against one another, and it’s all going down July 10-12!
Stage 1 is a GSL style Group Stage featuring four groups of four players. The two players who survive the GSL elimination stage will advance to Stage 2: The Finals. Here the final eight players will meet in a winner-takes-all Single Elimination Bracket. The last fighter standing earns the title and the purse!
