EWC 25 Week 7 Overview

This is the final week of the 2025 Esports World Cup, and all eyes are on the Club Championship. Points can still be earned in Street Fighter 6, CROSSFIRE, and Counter-Strike 2 competitions, meaning contending clubs will do everything they can to prevent Team Falcons from keeping the trophy in Saudi Arabia for a second consecutive year.
Club Championship contenders
Five teams remain in the race for Club Championship honors, though two have a far better shot than the other three. Title-defending local club Team Falcons currently leads with 4,700 points and fields teams in all three remaining competitions.
Team Liquid sits in second place with 4,200 points and also has teams in every remaining event. A win in CROSSFIRE at EWC 25, Counter-Strike 2 at EWC 25, or Street Fighter 6 at EWC 25 could put them in the lead.
Team Vitality holds third place with 3,750 points but has only one team still in play. The French club is a favorite in Counter-Strike 2 at EWC 25, though they’ll need Team Falcons to stumble in all remaining competitions to claim first place.
Twisted Minds and Virtus.pro, currently tied for fourth, also have a shot at climbing the leaderboard. Twisted Minds has teams in two events, meaning they’ll need exceptional performances in both to contend for gold. Virtus.pro has teams in all remaining tournaments but still must win to be eligible for a first-place finish.

Counter-Strike 2 at 2025 Esports World Cup
Counter-Strike 2 at 2025 Esports World Cup runs from August 20th to 24th, featuring 16 elite teams competing in a single-elimination bracket for a $1,250,000 prize pool. Unlike many other events at EWC, this format offers no second chances. One loss and you’re out, making every match high-stakes and increasing the potential for major upsets.
Every series will be played as a best-of-three, culminating in the grand final on August 24th at 7 PM KSA. When the dust settles, one team will take home the $500,000 first prize and crucial points toward the Club Championship.
Street Fighter 6 at 2025 Esports World Cup
Get ready for some close-quarters combat with Street Fighter 6 at Esports World Cup 2025. From August 20th to 23rd, 48 of the world’s top players compete for their share of a $1,000,000 prize pool. Ten of the competing players already have experience in Riyadh, earning their spot in last week’s Last Chance Qualifier.
They will join the pre-qualified players in a double-elimination group stage, with twelve groups of four players each. Winners will advance directly to the play-offs bracket, while runners-up will get another chance to earn their spot in a second group phase. The winner will be decided in a single-elimination playoff bracket on August 23rd, where best-of-nine sets will determine who claims the title and takes home the lion’s share of the prize money.
CROSSFIRE at 2025 Esports World Cup
CROSSFIRE makes its debut at Esports World Cup 2025, running from August 19th to 23rd, with 16 teams competing for a $2,000,000 prize pool. The tournament, taking the position of the CROSSFIRE Stars Summer Championship, kicks off with a group stage featuring four groups of four teams playing a GSL format. Two teams from each group will advance to the single-elimination play-offs, leading to the grand final on August 23rd at 4:30 PM KSA.
Closing Ceremony on August 24th
Once all the action concludes, the 2025 Esports World Cup will close with a special closing ceremony at Qiddiya Esports Arena. The Club Championship winners will be honored with a trophy presentation and a parade across Boulevard Riyadh City.
