CROSSFIRE at 2025 Esports World Cup: AG.AL Rise To The Top
After five days of strategic battles, lightning-fast reflexes, and nonstop action, AG.AL rose above the competition to become the inaugural champions of CROSSFIRE at the 2025 Esports World Cup. Congratulations to the Chinese club for claiming their second trophy in Riyadh.

Favorites throughout the competition
AG.AL, like the majority of the Chinese CROSSFIRE teams currently in Riyadh, were expected to breeze through the CROSSFIRE at 2025 Esports World Cup group stage. That's exactly what they did. First, they swept Virtus.pro 2-0 before sending Stallions to the lower bracket 2-1, securing their spot in the playoff stage.
In the quarterfinals, AG.AL faced their toughest challenge yet against compatriots KINGZERO-eSports (KZ). When KZ took the first map 10-1, their championship dreams seemed to shatter, but Zhang “ZY” Ye recomposed and led the team to a 2-1 series victory, even turning the tables on KZ with a 10-1 win of their own in the decider.
The semifinals went AG.AL’s way in more convincing fashion, as they swept fellow Chinese squad Evolution Power 2-0. On the other side of the bracket, Baisha Gaming eliminated the Filipino squad Stallions.
A historic Chinese rivalry
An AG.AL vs. Baisha Gaming final gave fans another chapter in one of the biggest rivalries in CROSSFIRE history. What followed was a thrilling back-and-forth series, as Baisha struck first, taking the opening map in dominant fashion, 10-1.
As in previous matches, AG.AL stayed composed, claiming the next two maps 10-4 to reach match point. Baisha narrowly extended the series to a deciding game, but AG.AL sealed the championship with a 10-3 victory on Port in the finale.

Chinese dominance on display
After falling behind early, with Stallions reaching multiple match points at 9-5 on the opening map of the third-place decider, Evolution Power mounted an impressive comeback to push the game into overtime. The Chinese squad fell behind again in the extra rounds but ultimately completed the comeback, taking the map 13-11.
The second game stayed close until EP created some breathing room with an 8-5 lead. The Filipino Stallions fought hard to force a game three but couldn’t stop EP from securing the win and completing an all-Chinese podium.
Sony MVP
The SONY MVP award for CROSSFIRE at EWC 25 went to AG.AL’s Meng “Doo” Kun. Doo delivered strong performances throughout the tournament but was especially crucial in the team’s finals victory, earning an additional $10,000 and a trophy.

Club Championship
While the race for the first-place trophy in the Club Championship may be decided, there is still plenty of cash on the line. This win gives AG.AL their second victory at EWC 25, following their earlier gold in KWC at EWC 25. The club has also climbed past Gen.G in the rankings, securing sixth place.
