The 2025 Esports World Cup shattered records this summer, hosting over 2,500 players & club staff, and drawing more than 3,000,000 visitors to Boulevard Riyadh City.


A worldwide phenomenon

EWC 25 brought together more than 2,500 players and team staff from 89 nationalities. Across 25 tournaments, competitors played 871 matches with over $70,000,000 in total prize money on the line.

A total of 218 clubs competed throughout the summer, with 103 earning points toward the Club Championship. The top 24 clubs secured at least $150,000 each, while defending champions Team Falcons claimed an impressive $7,000,000.

City Wide Impact

The Esports World Cup isn’t just making waves inside the arenas – it’s taking over entire cities, proving just how far gaming culture has come. From the moment fans land in Saudi Arabia, the experience begins.

Officials and ticket holders received a special commemorative passport stamp upon arrival in King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Arrival halls in both Riyadh and Jeddah airports have been transformed with EWC signage and interactive gaming stations, setting the tone for an event that blends entertainment, technology, and community.

Iconic landmarks like the Kingdom Tower and the Boulevard City arch lit up with stunning Esports World Cup visuals. These massive projections are a surreal, powerful reminder for fans and players alike: esports & gaming is here, and it’s bigger than ever.


A multicultural crowd

The tournaments and festival drew a staggering 3 million visitors: including 2,000 of the most dedicated club superfans traveling from 66 countries. The event spanned four esports arenas and eight festival venues within Boulevard Riyadh City, covering an area the size of nine football pitches.

Special guests included Cristiano Ronaldo, Magnus Carlsen, Tony Hawk, Post Malone, DINO, Gerard Piqué, Karry Wang, David Harbour, Ronaldo Nazário, Kaká, Lando Norris, Alisha Lehmann, Nick Kyrgios, Roberto Carlos, Thiago Alcantar. Joined by 700+ gaming creators and co-streamers.



Global Viewership

EWC 25 also made a massive impact online, generating 340 million hours watched and peaking at 7.5 million concurrent viewers during the League of Legends at EWC 25 finals. Other competitions that drew huge online audiences included the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Mid Season Cup at 2025 Esports World Cup and the debut of Chess at EWC 25.
