The Jafonso Award
At the 2024 Esports World Cup, João “Jafonso” Vasconcelos pulled off the improbable by winning the EA SPORTS FC tournament after advancing through the Last Chance Qualifier. That inspiring feat has led the Esports World Cup Foundation to create a new honor: the Jafonso Award, given to any player who advances through an LCQ and goes on to win their tournament.
Jafonso Award winners will receive an additional $50,000 on top of their first-place prize at EWC 2025. They’ll also earn a special mark on the EWC Totem at the end of their tournament run.

Player of the Week
Individuals this year will be able to win the MVP award in team games (worth $10,000 each). But the biggest superstars in EWC will be able to pick up the $50,000 Player of the Week award for the most outstanding player of that week of EWC irrespective of the game title they play.
MVPs and individual game champions will be eligible for the Player of the Week award. The EWC Panel will decide which player should receive it based on their in-game performance, the broader context of the achievement and their performance or exemplary behavior at EWC.

Club of the Week
The world’s top esports clubs are competing in the Club Championship with $27 million on the line. The Club Championship ranking will identify the world’s best esports club after seven weeks of EWC. In the meantime, each week will also bring one Club of the Week to light.
The award will go to the team that earned the most Club Championship points in that specific week. If there’s a tie, the top club of the week will be determined by who has the larger number of higher placements. In case of a further tie, the EWC Panel will award Club of the Week to the Club based on how impressive, historic or captivating the clubs’ achievements that week were.

Champion Slayer
Teams and players that defeat the defending champion and win EWC 25 will receive the Champion Slayer mark on the EWC Totem.
