New city, bigger bracket, same fast-paced chess. After an explosive debut last summer, chess returns to the 2026 Esports World Cup. From August 11 to August 15, 22 of the world’s top players will gather at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles to battle for their share of the $1,500,000 prize pool and this year’s EWC title.

OpTic Gaming have officially cemented their dynasty, defeating Team Heretics 5-3 in a thrilling Grand Final to claim the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 title at EWC 26. With the victory, the American club goes back-to-back as Esports World Cup champions, taking home $400,000 from the $1,000,000 prize pool. Congratulations to OpTic Gaming on another historic EWC title.

KWC at EWC 26 Champions: Kuaishou Gaming topple AG.AL
Kuaishou Gaming defeated AG.AL in a seven-game endurance test to claim the Honor of Kings World Cup title at EWC 26. The two Chinese powerhouses traded back-and-forth blows throughout the Grand Final, but KSG ultimately outlasted the reigning champions to lift the trophy. Congratulations to Kuaishou Gaming.
