LAST TIME ON: StarCraft II at the Esports World Cup
In 2024, 18 of StarCraft ll’s most lethal challengers traveled to Riyadh with one goal in mind: Win a world championship. Across the galactic battlefields many fell from all three factions — Zerg, Terran, and Protoss — until only four remained.
The final four pitted the “the wonder kid” Clem, Finish phenom Serral, and Korea’s finest Dark and herO in a final four fight over the $400,000 top prize. In an unlikely turn, both Korean players fell in semi-finals, despite Korea being the long-time home of StarCraft ll champions.
And so in the finals the two European powerhouses faced off, Serral running his world-famous Zerg while Clem stuck to his tried and true Terran. What on the surface appeared to be a clash for the ages, ended up being a route as Clem absolutely massacred Serral in a stunning 5-0 defeat.

StarCraft II at 2025 Esports World Cup Dates and Tournament Format
StarCraft II at 2025 Esports World Cup will light up the stage July 22-25, 2025.
The tournament is structured into three stages. We’ll kick it off with a play-in group stage featuring four players in a GSL-style format. Then Stage 2 will feature two groups of eight players in a double elimination bracket to decide the top eight playoff!
Stage 3 will bring it home in a high-stakes single-elimination playoff bracket, with the cash prize and glory there for the taking!
EWC StarCraft II 2025 Prize Pool
A prize pool of $700,000 USD is up for grabs at StarCraft II at 2025 Esports World Cup. It is one of the largest prize pools available in StarCraft ll, so you can bet that these players are going to give it their all in pursuit of their share of the cash!
