Team Spirit Crowned Dota 2 at 2025 Esports World Cup Champions After Unbeaten Run Ends in Convincing Grand Final Victory

Jul 19, 2025.

Team Spirit emerged 3-0 victors in the Dota 2 at EWC 25 grand final to win yet another major trophy in dominant fashion.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (July 19, 2025) Team Spirit has won the Dota 2 at 2025 Esports World Cup tournament after a dominant run through the competition, which saw them take down some of the biggest names in Dota with ease, during the most competitive playoff stage in recent memory.

Team Spirit produced a near perfect run to claim the Dota 2 at 2025 Esports World Cup Crown. The side dropped just one game in the tournament, in their opening game against Xtreme Gaming, which ended 1-1 in the group stage. Since then they’ve gone unbeaten, not dropping a single map in the remaining five matches.

In the Grand Final Team Spirit secured an impressive 3-0 victory against underdogs Team Falcons. While Falcons tried valiantly, Team Spirit came into the series as favourites for a reason, and their quality was on display during the three games. This was a dominant display from a team many consider to be the best in the world, with the win at EWC now proving that claim.

In their journey to the final they managed to beat Talon Esports, NAVI, PVISION and defending Esports World Cup champions Gaimin Gladiators. With all the top eight ranked teams heading into the event making the playoff stage, this was one of the most competitive brackets in recent Dota history, making the win even more impressive.

The near perfect run will net the Russian side the $1,000,000 first place prize and crucial Club Championship points for Team Spirit. The victory sees the side claim their second title of the year, and their third top two finish.

Team Spirit came into the Esports World Cup as the third seed from the EPT Leaderboard, behind PARIVISION and BB Team, and one spot ahead of their Grand Final opponents Team Falcons. It was a convincing tournament showing by Team Spirit who walk away deserved victors, however the second place finish from Team Falcons gives them even more Club Championship points to add to their already impressive total.

“There is not really much emotions as the Grand Final was not that hard,” said Iaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov after his victory. “I enjoyed to play in this tournament, every player in my team is the best of the best. There was a lot of fans here also, thank you everyone so much for your support”

Team Spirit’s Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov was awarded the tournament MVP after some incredible performances over the two weeks of Dota 2 at EWC 2025. He will claim an extra $10,000 and a special MVP medal to honour his performances at the event.

Team Spirit will earn 1000 Club Championship points for their series victory, as the side lock in their first points total of the Esports World Cup. They will need to add to that total if they want to secure a top finish come the end of the Esports World Cup, and with so many events still to play out, anything could still happen.
