Now, the competition returns to EWC for 2025. Will the reigning champion Xhio Hai defend his title, or will another FGC legend steal the crown?

Street Fighter 6 has every man fighting for themselves, with honor, glory, and $1 million on the line. Grit, determination, and skill will all be needed as the best fighters from every region take on every challenge in their way to the EWC. Only one will emerge as the winner.
LAST TIME ON: Esports World Cup Street Fighter 6
EWC SF6 2024 was one for the record books! Heading into EWC 2024, no one had Xiao Hai as their favorite. While he is the GOAT of King of Fighters, at the age of 35 he was a decade older than most of the field, and many assumed he was washed. But in the playoffs, the veteran overthrew the expectations. With grit and determination, he upped his game with every match and ultimately dominated Kawano in the Grand Finals in 5-2 fashion.
It was his first SF6 world championship, and Xiao Hai went on to say that the “EWC is the most important tournament that I have ever won. I have never cried because I won the championship, only this time, and more because I proved myself on the SF6. Thank you EWC."
Now the Esports World Cup Foundation has signed a three-year partnership with Capcom! So we are in for many years more of brutal SF6 action on the Esports World Cup stage. With 48 players entering the brawl, the competition is sure to be more cutthroat than ever before!
