Alpha7 Esports' consistent performances were rewarded as they finished above REJECT and Tiana

Alpha7 Esports are the champions of PUBG MOBILE World Cup x Esports World Cup. The victory in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia marks the first time Alpha7 Esports have won an international PUBG MOBILE event.

Alpha7 Esports’ journey to victory

Throughout PUBG MOBILE World Cup x Esports World Cup, Alpha7 Esports looked like a contender to win it all. Alpha7 finished the Group Stage tied with Team Liquid at 91 points – more than enough to skip the Survival Stage and qualify straight to the Main Tournament.

Alpha7 Esports, more than any other team in the main tournament, was able to contend deep into matches and secured five Winner Winner Chicken Dinners on the way to their title.

Alpha7 Esports came out of the gate strong on the final day of PUBG MOBILE World Cup x Esports World Cup with their fifth Winner Winner Chicken Dinner in round 13, but early exits in round 15 and round 16 saw the margin between Alpha7 and second place REJECT dwindle.

Ultimately, Reiji "ReijiOcO" Maeda’s impressive MVP performance was not enough to put REJECT over Alpha7 Esports when all was said and done. Alpha7 did not secure another WWCD for the rest of the day, but their consistent performance was enough to once again expand their lead over the rest of the competition.

REJECT settled for a second-place tie with Tianba at 124 points, while Alpha7’s 153 points were more than enough to earn them a 1st place finish at PUBG MOBILE World Cup x Esports World Cup.

PUBGM EWC spoils of victory

In addition to securing their first international title, Alpha7 Esports will be bringing the $467,312.50 lion’s share of the $3,050,000 USD prize pool back to Brazil. Their win also earned them 1,000 Club Points at EWC 2024.

It will be exciting to see what Alpha7 Esports does in the PUBG Mobile scene after this phenomenal run at EWC.
