EWC Week 6 watch guide - these are the matces you must watch

Week 6 of the inaugural Esports World Cup is bringing competitive matches to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in three new esports. EWC 2024 Week 6 will present Teamfight Tactics, Street Fighter 6, and Fortnite.

There’s a ton of action ahead for autobattler, battle royale, and fighting game fans. This is going to be insane, bringing so many esports communities together. Not sure where to begin? Here are the can’t miss matches for each tournament!

Esports World Cup Presenting Teamfight Tactics

EWC Presenting TFT will feature 16 of the top Teamfight Tactics squads in the world competing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The top two teams from all four regions – Americas, EMEA, APAC and China – are joining the top two teams from each regional closed qualifier.

The Group Stage divides the 16 teams into four groups of four and the top two teams from each group qualify for the Playoffs bracket. All matches are best-of-three sans the grand finals, which will be a best-of-five match.

Fnatic’s first matchup in Group C against Z10 is a must-watch, if for no other reason than to see if Joseph "Dishsoap" Goldsmith can continue his meteoric rise through competitive TFT for the orange and black on the EWC stage.

Esports World Cup: Featuring Fortnite

Esports World Cup: Featuring Fortnite has 16 of the top Fortnite squads in the world competing on one international stage. The Group Stage divides the 16 teams into four groups of four and the top two teams from each group qualify for the Playoffs bracket. All matches in the group stage are best-of-five format, and the Playoffs will be best-of-seven matches.

Team Falcons is absolutely dominating EWC 2024 in Club Points with a total of 4100 points – 1615 over 2nd place Team Liquid. A strong showing at EWC: Featuring Fortnite could put them out of reach as the surefire EWC 2024 club points leader.

Esports World Cup: Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 is one of the biggest fighting game of the year, repping the FGC at EWC 2024. Thirty-two of the game’s best will duke it out for a chance of immortalized glory at the inaugural Esports World Cup.

The top two players from each of the eight four-player groups will move on to the second phase of the tournament, which will feature four groups of four players each that survived the first group phase. The top two players from each group in the second phase will then qualify for the Playoffs. All matches will be best-of-five until the Playoffs, which will feature a single elimination best-of-nine format.

The second match of day 1 will feature FlyQuest’s FlyFighters star Victor "Punk" Woodley, who won Street Fighter 6 at EVO 2024 last month and will look to start off EWC 2024 on the right foot against EWC club points leader Team Falcons’ Sim "NL" Gun.
