Esports World Cup Week 3: Matches You Shouldn't Miss

Week 3 of the inaugural Esports World Cup is bringing competitive matches to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in three esports. DOTA 2 major Riyadh Masters will continue on for its third week of competition and will be joined by competitions for Counter-Strike 2 and PUBG Mobile for Week 3 of EWC 2024. Esports World Cup: Counter-Strike 2

EWC 2024 is bringing 15 of the best Counter-Strike 2 teams in the world to Riyadh this week. The Opening Stage of the Esports World Cup: Counter-Strike 2 will kick things off with 14 teams and seven best-of-three matches. The winner of each of these matches will round out 7 of the 8 spots in the Play-In stage – the final spot in the Play-In already belongs to Middle Eastern Qualifier team JiJieHao. The Opening Stage features multiple matchups with elite CS2 competition, but any time Team Vitality plays is must-watch viewing. Even though VIT has had a rough year in terms of results thus far in 2024, they still boast the best player in the world, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut. However, if Vitality wants to get their first tournament win of the year, they’ll need the rest of their team to step up around ZywOo against M80. Riyadh Masters x Esports World Cup

Week 2 of Riyadh Masters saw 16 Dota 2 teams separated into two groups of eight. The top four teams from each group were seeded into the upper bracket of the Playoffs, while the fifth and six place teams from each group settled for seeding in the lower bracket. The seventh and eighth place teams were eliminated, bringing the total of teams left competing at Riyadh Masters down to 12.

There are two can’t-miss first-round matches in the Playoffs of Riyadh Masters 2024. Team Falcons, who took 1st in Group A this past week, will look to continue their organization’s success at EWC 2024 against WBG Xtreme Gaming, while Team Liquid will look to get the better of reigning TI champion Team Spirit. PUBG MOBILE World Cup x Esports World Cup

Twenty-eight teams have come to Riyadh to compete in the PUBG MOBILE World Cup at EWC 2024. The group stage will feature three matches: Group A vs Group B, Group A vs Group C, and Group B vs Group C. Each group has eight teams, and the top 12 teams at the end of the group stage will join Rukh Esports, Team Spirit, Team Pandum, Team Spirit, and Twisted Minds in the Survival Stage. It’s difficult to focus on every single bit of the action in a battle royale, but Group B’s matches should be among the most entertaining with electrifying squads like Talon Esports and Team Liquid looking to make their way to the next round.
