PARIS, France (July 28, 2026) – The Esports World Cup 2026 will conclude with the Counter-Strike 2 Championship Final at Paris' historic Accor Arena, where one of esports' most iconic titles returns to one of its most celebrated venues for the Grand Finale, crowning the Club Champion and bringing the world's largest esports and gaming event to a close.

Staging the Counter-Strike 2 Championship Final at Accor Arena extends the EWC 2026 beyond Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, bringing the tournament's concluding championship into one of the city's most recognised sporting venues and reinforcing Paris as the stage for the world's leading esports event.

The venue for the Grand Final heralds the return to an iconic Counter-Strike location, the Accor Arena in Paris. In 2023, the Accor Arena hosted the final CS:GO Major, a legendary tournament that not only saw the spectacular finale to a decade-long era of one of the world’s greatest esports, but saw Team Vitality finally claim its first Major title in front of a delirious home crowd. Now they’d love nothing more than to claim Counter-Strike, and Club Championship glory in front of their fans yet again.

The choice of venue reflects the scale of Counter-Strike 2 at EWC 2026, with fans anticipating the expanded format and enhanced team participation. At EWC 2026, CS2 expands to 32 teams and a two week duration, featuring a double-elimination group stage with 16 teams advancing to the single-elimination Playoffs bracket.

The 32-team field consists of 28 of the top-ranked teams in the world according to the Valve Regional Standings, joined by four teams competing in a massively deep 128-team open qualifier taking place in Paris from August 7-9.

Teams will compete for $2 million, which ties for the largest prize pool in Counter-Strike 2 history, but there will be much more on the line than prize money. With the likes of Team Falcons, Team Vitality, Natus Vincere, and other Club Championship contenders competing in CS2 at EWC 2026, the fate of the Club Championship could very well be decided in this tournament.

Last year, Falcons’ third place finish provided some welcome but non-crucial breathing room for the organization at the top of the standings. But the Falcons CS2 roster enters EWC 2026 as the defending Major champions, and with Falcons as a whole off to a slow start in the EWC 2026 Club Championship race, the pressure is on to perform. With the race entering a critical stage, Counter-Strike 2 could determine which Club lifts the EWC 2026 Club Championship trophy.

The Esports World Cup 2026 is hosted in Paris, France, from July 6 to August 23, welcoming more than 2,000 players and 200 Clubs from over 100 countries to compete across 24 games and 25 tournaments for a share of the record-breaking $75 million+ prize pool.
